DoubleCreek was
established in 2002 as an outreach by foster parents Dennis Reynolds and
Shelley Cohen. As a couple, they had been providing care for foster children
since 1990 and recognized the effects of children enduring multiple
placements.
To serve as a
motivator for children to change their unacceptable behaviors and to do well
in school, they expanded their efforts as foster parents. In addition to
emergency placement and respite care, they developed a “reward visit” system
supported by The Department of Children’s Services of Tennessee. Children
who are meeting the goals set by their case worker and foster/adoptive
parents can schedule visits to DoubleCreek.
DoubleCreek
expectations and rules are very straight forward- they are the words of Gene
Autry and his Cowboy Code. We consider it a privilege to open our home to
foster and adoptive children and truly believe we can make a difference, one
child at a time.

He
believed in the achievable despite all obstacles.
We
encourage you to carry his theme with you at home and at work.
